Commercial solar in Spain: finding businesses with a roof and daytime consumption
Which Spanish businesses are ideal clients for self-consumption solar, how to identify them by activity and size, and the argument that closes the sale.

Self-consumption solar sells better to businesses than to homes for a simple reason: businesses consume during the day, exactly when panels produce. Payback is faster and the argument is purely financial. Spain's sunshine does the rest.
The ideal client
- High daytime consumption: workshops, warehouses with machinery, light industry, cold storage, supermarkets.
- Available roof: owned, or leased with the landlord's permission.
- Significant bill: below a certain consumption, payback takes too long.
A car workshop with six employees and its own warehouse is almost the perfect client.
How to find them
Filter by activity and headcount (3-9 and 10-49 usually have the premises and consumption) in your province, and reveal the owner's mobile: they make investment decisions like this.
The argument that closes
Don't sell panels, sell a number: "With your consumption, a 30 kW installation would save around €X a year and pay for itself in Y years." For that you need their bills, so the first call has one goal: get the latest bill and, ideally, the hourly consumption curve.
Typical objections
- "I don't have the money": be ready to explain financing and leasing options.
- "I don't own the building": talk to the landlord; it can add value to the property.
- "Others have called me": differentiate with a real study, not a generic price per kW.
Explain which permits you handle under Royal Decree 244/2019 and give realistic timelines.
